A transformation is taking place in all types of libraries. The concept of access to remote resources that supplement or substitute for items owned locally has become more acceptable. The virtual library is the phenomenon of the international system of electronic networks that enables a user at a computer terminal to search bibliographic citations, databases, electronic publications, and other types of information in digital format.
